Modern Plastering
Modern plastering is the use of contemporary plastering techniques and materials to create smooth, durable, and visually appealing finishes. I do all of the following:
- plasterboarding
- float & set
- covering of Artex
- rendering (not silicone)
- skimming of walls
- ceilings and coving.
If you're unsure as to the best approach, don't hesitate to contact me for a chat.
Heritage Lime Plastering & Rendering
Heritage plastering is the practice of restoring plaster using traditional methods to preserve its history. This includes:
- lime plaster
- lime rendering
- lath and plaster-work
- insulated lime render
- exterior lime repointing
Lime plaster is the go-to choice when renovating listed and historic buildings, offering versatility and durability. It is natural, breathable and longlasting.
Insulated lime render can make an older house feel warmer and significantly cut your heating bills. Get in touch to find out more.
Finishing Touches
It's frustrating to be left with newly plastered interior or exterior walls only to find that you need to hire a decorator too. I like to ensure my projects are fully finished so I'm happy to quote to full completion. Please note:
I hail from a family of trades-people, so I can easily source other highly-skilled workers for complete refurbishment projects.
Whether you need a plumber, electrician, kitchen or bathroom fitter, I can source and supply those trusted tradespeople who adhere to the same high standards as myself. Feel free to get in touch to find out more.
About Me
With over 15 years of experience in the plastering trade, I strive to deliver high-quality craftsmanship with a personal touch on every job.
The ability to bring other specialists on board is something my customers greatly appreciate as I come from a family of trades-people from various construction roles, including building.
I specialise in both modern plastering and traditional techniques, with a passionate focus on heritage work. Restoring old buildings and rescuing them from things like damp issues is a part of the job I like the best, and I take great pride in bringing beautiful buildings back to their former glory.
While there may always be cheaper options available, I feel I stand out for my expertise as an all-around plasterer—especially in lime plaster work. Living in the Valley of the Racehorse means I have access to plenty of horse hair, so the horse hair I use in my mixes is very much locally-sourced.
I recently passed my Level 3 award in 'Repair & Maintenance Of Traditional Buildings'. This award provides the knowledge essentials required prior to working on old buildings, including materials and property energy performance. The following is covered:
- Ageing properties
- The understanding of solid-walled construction
- Traditional materials vs modern
- All regulations relating to listed properties
- PAS2035 and how this relates to older properties
- Insulation methods & materials for increasing energy efficiency.
My aim is to be the first choice in my local area for those seeking not just any plasterer, but a skilled craftsman dedicated to the highest standards of workmanship.
